World Youth Skills Day Highlights Need for Innovative Youth Programs

Islamabad: World Youth Skills Day is being observed today with a focus on the urgent need for innovative youth skills programs. The annual event, themed “Skills for a Shared Future” this year, aims to underscore the importance of equipping young people with the necessary skills for employment, decent work, and entrepreneurship.

According to Radio Pakistan, World Youth Skills Day was established in 2014 when the United Nations General Assembly declared July 15 as a day to recognize the strategic importance of youth skills development. The day’s activities emphasize creating opportunities for young individuals to gain skills that will support their future economic and social development.

The observance of World Youth Skills Day continues to draw attention to the need for education and training systems that are responsive to the evolving demands of the labor market. By focusing on innovative programs, the event seeks to build a workforce equipped for the challenges and opportunities of the future.
