ISLAMABAD: World Migratory Bird Day is being observed today, emphasizing the significance of community science in the conservation efforts for migratory birds. The annual event, backed by the United Nations, serves to raise global awareness about the necessity of preserving migratory birds and their habitats.



According to Radio Pakistan, the theme for this year’s observance, “Every Bird Counts – Your Observations Matter!”, underscores the crucial contribution that individual observations and community involvement play in protecting these avian species. World Migratory Bird Day is officially celebrated on the second Saturday of May, marking a collaborative effort to spotlight the importance of safeguarding migratory pathways and environments essential to bird survival.
