Jammu, Vikar Rasool Wani, the President of the Indian National Congress’s chapter in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, has issued a warning to the local populace about the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) divisive tactics in the region.
According to Kashmir Media Service, during a party function in Jammu, Wani accused the BJP of consistently engaging in divisive politics and fostering hatred among communities. He asserted that the BJP manipulates emotions and exploits public sentiment during elections for political gain. Wani also expressed the people’s frustration with the BJP, alleging that the party had betrayed the trust of those who voted them into power. He criticized the BJP’s policies and deemed their governance as a failure.
Furthermore, Congress leader Raman Bhalla spoke at the event, highlighting the consequences following the abrogation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status. Bhalla emphasized that the land rights of the poor have been compromised, job protections have been eliminated, and there has been a notable lack of employment opportunities in both the government and private sectors since the abrogation.
These statements from prominent political figures in the region point to growing discontent and concerns about the BJP’s approach to governance and its impact on the socio-political fabric of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
