Roubaix: Mathieu Van Der Poel has continued his dominance in the prestigious Paris-Roubaix cycling event, capturing his third consecutive victory. The race, known for its grueling cobblestone sections, witnessed Van Der Poel outmaneuvering a determined Tadej Pogacar, who faltered at a critical moment.
Pogacar, despite a strong push in the closing stages, could not overcome Van Der Poel’s lead. With this victory, Van Der Poel also celebrated his eighth Monument Classic title, solidifying his status in the sport.
The race also saw Pogacar achieving a historic milestone, becoming the first Tour de France champion since 1975 to secure a podium finish at Paris-Roubaix. He finished second behind Van Der Poel.
Rounding out the podium was Mads Pedersen, who ensured a sweep by road race world champions. The competition highlighted the elite level of cycling talent present in this year’s race.
