UNSC Condemns Terror Attack on Quetta Train, Calls for Justice


NEW YORK: The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has issued a strong condemnation of a terrorist attack on a train in Quetta, labeling the act as heinous and cowardly. The council members expressed their deepest sympathies to the victims’ families and extended condolences to the Government and people of Pakistan.



According to Radio Pakistan, the UNSC statement emphasized that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations remains one of the most serious threats to international peace and security. The council members underscored the importance of holding those responsible for such acts accountable and bringing them to justice.



The statement also reiterated the necessity for all States to combat threats to international peace and security posed by terrorist acts, in compliance with the UN Charter and international law, including international human rights law.
