Lahore, August 22, 2022 (PPI-OT):On the instructions of Inspector General Police Punjab Faisal Shahkar, relief activities of police teams are going on in DG Khan and Rajanpur to protect the lives and property of flood affected citizens. Spokesperson Punjab Police said that in the last 24 hours, police moved 1380 people trapped in the flood water to safe places, while 605 cattle of local citizens were also brought to safe places.
In total, more than 1200 police personnel are engaged in relief activities, who are working day and night to help the flood victims along with the district administration and other rescue departments. The spokesperson Punjab Police said that in the flood-affected areas of Dera Ghazi Khan Region, police have distributed relief goods and food packets to the flood victims. The relief goods include ration, milk, juice, biscuits and other necessities.
According to details, on the order of IG Punjab, RPO and DPO are personally mobilized to help the people in flood affected areas and in this regard, RPO DG Khan Muhammad Saleem participated in rescue operation in the affected areas of Rajanpur. RPO DG Khan Muhammad Saleem said that police are distributing relief materials for the flood victims from their own resources and the SHOs are delivering the relief materials to the needy under their supervision.
RPO DG Khan further informed that the police in the affected areas are protecting lives and property along with rescue operations while evacuation of people from the flood affected areas is going on. RPO DG Khan further said that the police personnel are taking out the citizens, cattle and their belongings from the flood water and all the facilities and security have been provided to the flood victims in the relief camps.
