U.S. Embassy in Islamabad Celebrates 250 Years of American Freedom with Landmark Event

ISLAMABAD: The U.S. Embassy in Islamabad hosted a significant event to mark the 250th anniversary of American democracy, highlighting the longstanding partnership between the United States and Pakistan. This event is part of a year-long series of celebrations leading up to the historic anniversary.

According to the Embassy of the United States of America, the Freedom 250 celebration was attended by distinguished guests from various sectors of Pakistani society, including government, business, civil society, academia, and culture. The gathering emphasized the extensive and dynamic relations between the two countries, rooted in shared interests and a commitment to future prosperity and security.

Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker, in her keynote speech, highlighted the importance of the Freedom 250 celebration as a reflection of the shared values of liberty and democracy that unite the United States and Pakistan. She emphasized the enduring friendship and future potential between the two nations.

The event featured performances by the U.S. Marine Corps Color Guard, the U.S. Air Force Central Command Band, and singer Bilal Saeed. The program concluded with a fireworks display over Islamabad, symbolizing the shared future of the United States and Pakistan.

Freedom 250 is part of a global initiative launched by President Trump to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Declaration of Independence, with events organized by U.S. missions worldwide under the theme “A New Era of American Greatness.”
