U.S. Delegation Explores Investment Opportunities in Pakistan’s Mineral Sector

Islamabad: A U.S. delegation led by Mr. Eric Meyer, Acting Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, met with the Prime Minister in Islamabad to discuss investment opportunities and bilateral relations. The delegation’s visit coincides with the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum, where the Prime Minister emphasized the potential of Pakistan’s mineral sector and encouraged U.S. investment.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of Pakistan-U.S. relations for regional peace and security and expressed a desire to strengthen ties with the United States under President Trump’s administration. He pointed to trade, investment, and counterterrorism as key areas for enhanced cooperation.

Mr. Meyer congratulated Pakistan on the successful hosting of the Minerals Investment Forum and acknowledged the promising opportunities in Pakistan’s mineral sector. He conveyed the interest of U.S. companies in investing in this industry and expressed the U.S. desire to collaborate with Pakistan on issues of mutual interest, aiming to strengthen bilateral ties.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with other high-level government officials, were present at the meeting, underscoring the significance of the discussions for both nations.
