U.S. Business Delegation Pursues Investment Opportunities in Karachi


Karachi: A high-level U.S. business delegation, organized by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), conducted a two-day visit to Karachi to explore investment opportunities, strengthen economic cooperation, and engage with prominent business leaders and Sindh’s provincial leadership. The visit featured discussions on potential investments in key industrial and maritime projects and highlighted the readiness of Sindh to welcome international investors.



According to Press Information Department, the delegation met with Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah and other provincial ministers to discuss prospects in the Bin Qasim Industrial Park, Karachi Industrial Park, Keti Bandar Port, NED Tech Park, and the proposed Sindh International Financial Centre. The Chief Minister reassured the delegation of the Sindh Government’s commitment to facilitating foreign investment through public-private partnerships.



The delegation, led by SIFC, visited significant sites such as the Bin Qasim Industrial Park and Karachi Industrial Park at Port Qasim, where they were briefed by the CEO of the Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation on potential industrial and export opportunities. At Karachi Port Trust, the visitors received insights into modernization initiatives and investment prospects in logistics and seafood processing. The delegation also toured Hutchison Ports Pakistan to understand its role in maritime trade.



Further engagements included a meeting with the Governor of Sindh, Syed Nihal Hashmi, who emphasized the supportive investment climate and commended SIFC’s efforts in fostering international investment. Private-sector interactions involved discussions with the Pakistan Business Council (PBC) on capital markets, agribusiness, and other sectors. The delegation also met with the American Business Council to discuss the evolving investment landscape and initiatives promoting health and women’s well-being.



The visit, facilitated by SIFC, provided the U.S. business delegation with comprehensive insights into Sindh’s industrial and commercial potential and strengthened Pakistan-U.S. economic ties.
