Islamabad: The Islamabad Capital Police has announced an intensified strategy to ensure smooth traffic flow and the enforcement of traffic laws across the city. This initiative was unveiled during a meeting chaired by Muhammad Haroon Joiya, the Director General of Safe City and Deputy Inspector General of Traffic, aimed at addressing technical aspects of Safe City Islamabad and devising effective traffic management solutions.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meeting, which took place at Safe City Islamabad, included key officials such as SP Operations Safe City Captain (R) Hamza Humayun, Chief Traffic Officer Kainat Azhar, Director IT Atif Abbas, Assistant Director Abbas Mehdi, and the Deputy Director of the NOC Team. Discussions centered on enhancing traffic management through real-time monitoring using the Safe City camera network and enforcing traffic regulations strictly.
During the meeting, Muhammad Haroon Joiya directed officers to take legal action against violators, especially those breaching lane and line discipline. He emphasized the importance of protecting citizens’ lives and property and highlighted the development of a modern traffic management system as a departmental priority. Citizens were encouraged to report traffic-related issues through the Pukar-15 emergency helpline or the One Info App.
