Raipur: Indian forces killed three more tribal members in the disturbed state of Chhattisgarh today. According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident took place during a cordon and search operation in the forest area along the boundary between the districts of Dantewada and Bijapur.
A senior police official confirmed the incident. The operation is still ongoing, with further details awaited.
On March 20, Indian troops killed at least 30 tribal members. They were allegedly affiliated with the Communist Party of India-Maoists (CPI-M) in two separate locations in Bijapur and Dantewada districts in the Bastar region of the state.
Maoist guerrillas have been fighting for independence from Indian rule for a long time.
