Lalmonirhat, In a span of five days, three Bangladeshi nationals have been killed by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in Lalmonirhat, raising serious concerns about border security and international relations between Bangladesh and India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the latest incident occurred early Saturday in Lalmonirhat’s Kaliganj Upazila, where Murali Chandra, 42, was shot dead by BSF personnel. This event followed the killing of 20-year-old Liton Mia on March 26 in the same region. The shootings also left two others, Mizanur Rahman and Liton Mia from Chandrapur, injured.

Border Guard Bangladesh reported that the BSF’s 75-Chitrakot camp patrol team opened fire on Bangladeshi cattle traders near the border around 3:00 am, resulting in these casualties. The injured individuals were subsequently taken to a hospital after being moved back into Bangladesh.

Local police authorities, upon receiving information about the incident, recovered Chandra’s body and initiated a legal inquiry into the deaths, which include another individual, Al-Amin, 32, killed under similar circumstances.
