Supreme Judicial Council of Pakistan Convenes to Address Internal Matters


Islamabad: The Supreme Judicial Council of Pakistan convened in Islamabad under the leadership of Chief Justice Yahya Afridi to deliberate on matters pertaining to its own members. In an effort to uphold institutional accountability, the Council addressed a total of twenty-three issues during its meeting.



According to Press Information Department, the session took place in the Supreme Court’s conference room and included participation from key judicial figures such as Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan, Chief Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan, and several judges from the Supreme Court and high courts across the country. The Council’s agenda centered on constitutional provisions, leading to a reconfiguration of its members to ensure impartiality.



The reconstituted Council was chaired by Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan and included Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Shahid Waheed, and Justice S.M. Attique Shah. The Council’s proceedings were conducted in line with Article 209 of Pakistan’s Constitution, culminating in the resolution of all agenda items.
