Supreme Court Introduces AI-Powered Judicial Assistant and Reports Progress in Case Management


Islamabad: The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mr. Justice Yahya Afridi, accompanied by other justices, engaged with the Supreme Court Bar Association to discuss judicial reforms and digital innovations. Mr. Haroon Rashid, President of the Supreme Court Bar Association, and other members participated in the session focused on improving judicial efficiency and public access to justice.



According to Press Information Department, the Supreme Court administration introduced the Smart Judicial Assistant (SJA), an AI-powered platform that offers 24/7 access to judicial information and services. The platform consolidates various court-related functions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs for users. Video guides were also demonstrated to facilitate easier access to these services.



The Chief Justice highlighted progress in case disposal, particularly in tax matters, and addressed concerns about jail petition listings. He clarified that petitions are prioritized based on their filing order, ensuring fairness and transparency. Additionally, he noted that 192 early hearing applications had been processed, with fresh cases to be listed before the afternoon bench.



The session allowed for dialogue between the Bench and the Bar, with the Chief Justice emphasizing the need for ongoing collaboration to improve court services. The Supreme Court’s digital initiatives and case management improvements underscore its commitment to timely and transparent justice.
