Deputy Prime Minister Chairs Meeting on Fuel Subsidy Scheme


Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a joint meeting aimed at reviewing the fuel subsidy scheme and media management strategies to ensure effective public outreach.



According to Press Information Department, the meeting concentrated on the operational status and targeting mechanisms of the fuel subsidy initiative, as well as the media communication plan to enhance public awareness. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the government’s dedication to providing targeted fuel relief to eligible segments of society, following the Prime Minister’s directives.



The focus was on ensuring efficient inter-provincial and inter-ministerial coordination, smooth execution, resource allocation, and a robust public awareness campaign. The Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged the input and cooperation from provincial governments, as well as those of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit Baltistan (GB).



Attendees included Federal Ministers for Climate Change, Petroleum, and Information Technology & Telecommunication, the Minister of State for Finance, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, and senior officials from provincial governments, AJK, GB, and the relevant ministries.
