Mirpur: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry has stated that supporting the freedom movement in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) is a national obligation for every citizen.
Speaking at an event in his native village of Chachiyaan, Chaudhry reaffirmed his longstanding commitment to the Kashmir cause, which he said has been a priority throughout his political career.
Chaudhry detailed his international efforts to raise awareness of the Kashmir issue, including diplomatic visits to countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, France, and Turkey. He emphasized the need for a unified national consensus, bringing together leaders from different political arenas.
He pointed to recent visits by international figures, including US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s trip to Muzaffarabad, as proof of the campaign’s effectiveness in drawing global attention to the Kashmir dispute. Chaudhry noted that these developments have led to increased diplomatic pressure on the Indian government, resulting in official protests from both the US and UK.
The president’s statements and actions underscore his dedication to advancing Kashmir’s freedom struggle on a global stage.
