Islamabad: On National Newspaper Readership Day, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, praised the role of newspapers in fostering a well-informed society and emphasized their importance in socio-economic development. The Speaker addressed his remarks to the All-Pakistan Newspaper Society (APNS), journalists, and readers, acknowledging their contributions to the nation’s discourse and development.
According to National Assembly of Pakistan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq expressed his appreciation for the print media on the occasion marked annually on September 25. He highlighted the critical role that newspapers play in shaping an informed and engaged citizenry, capable of contributing meaningfully to national discussions. The Speaker described newspapers as crucial for socio-economic improvement, offering insights into daily life challenges and showcasing opportunities for advancement.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also pointed out the significant role newspapers have in improving transparency and accountability within government at all levels.
