Speaker of National Assembly Meets with Dr. Zakir Naik to Discuss Unity and Interfaith Harmony


Islamabad: On Tuesday, October 1, 2024, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, welcomed prominent religious scholar Dr. Zakir Naik to Parliament House for a significant discussion on the unity of the Muslim Ummah and the promotion of interfaith harmony.



According to National Assembly of Pakistan, the meeting highlighted the challenges faced by the Muslim community worldwide and the importance of fostering unity based on the teachings of the Holy Quran and Sunnah. Both leaders expressed concerns over the divisions within Muslim countries and discussed strategies to overcome these issues to strengthen the community’s global standing.



Dr. Zakir Naik commended the Pakistani people for their warmth and hospitality, emphasizing the need for Muslim nations to resolve their differences and collaborate more closely. He shared his views on using Islamic teachings as a foundation for addressing current challenges faced by Muslims around the world.



Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq reiterated that Islam advocates for peace, tolerance, and love, principles that should guide the Muslim Ummah’s efforts to unite. He praised Dr. Naik’s efforts in spreading the message of peace and the positive image of Islam globally. The Speaker also highlighted that Pakistan’s constitution guarantees equal rights for all citizens, ensuring that the rights of minorities are protected and upheld.



The dialogue underscored both leaders’ commitment to promoting the true teachings of Islam and enhancing solidarity among Muslims. Following their discussion, Dr. Zakir Naik joined Speaker Sadiq for a tour of the National Assembly Hall, symbolizing their shared commitment to these ideals.
