Sindh Governor Announces New Facilities and IT Courses for National Press Club Islamabad

Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori has unveiled plans to establish a gym and initiate IT training courses at the National Press Club Islamabad, aiming to enhance the professional capabilities of journalists. The announcement came during a meeting with a 17-member delegation from the National Press Club Islamabad, led by its President Azhar Jatoi, at the Governor House.

According to Sindh Governor House, the meeting addressed several key issues, including the critical role of journalism in supporting democracy and discussions on promoting higher education and economic stability in Sindh. Governor Tesori highlighted the importance of the press in democratic processes and voiced his commitment to supporting educational initiatives for journalists.

The initiative to introduce IT courses follows the success of similar programs run from the Governor House, where currently 50,000 young people are receiving free IT training. These programs are part of Governor Tesori’s broader mission to transform the province into an IT hub, with plans to expand these courses to Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas, Sukkur, and Larkana.

Governor Tesori also detailed various social welfare projects, including distributing ration bags to the needy—with more than 7 lakh bags distributed so far—and providing financial support for medical treatments and education. He noted that the Governor House has been actively involved in community engagement activities, such as hosting celebrations for national holidays and facilitating meetings with influential figures like Dr. Zakir Naik to promote interfaith harmony.

Furthermore, Governor Tesori emphasized the ongoing efforts to support the youth and women of Sindh, mentioning initiatives like issuing loans based on business proposals and providing sewing machines to women to foster self-reliance.

The meeting with the National Press Club also touched on the extensive outreach and public engagement activities conducted by the Governor House, which have included opening its doors to the public for various celebrations and distributing aid to victims of street crimes.
