Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah introduced a resolution in the Sindh Assembly to honor the first anniversary of “Marka-e-Haq,” recognizing the sacrifices and contributions of the martyrs, armed forces, and the people of Pakistan in maintaining national unity and sovereignty.
According to Chief Minister Sindh, the assembly unanimously commended the Pakistan Armed Forces’ sacrifices and professional capabilities, extending tribute to Field Marshal Asim Munir and service chiefs for their leadership. The resolution also lauded the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, alongside diplomatic efforts by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The roles of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto were also acknowledged, as was the unity displayed by the people, media, civil society, and youth during the crisis.
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, addressing the assembly, described the day as “historic,” recalling the collective stance of Pakistan against external threats one year prior. He referenced India’s longstanding hostilities since 1947, citing past conflicts and Pakistan’s subsequent nuclear development initiated by Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. The Chief Minister highlighted the tensions of the previous year, alleging a false flag operation by India and praising the decisive response of Pakistan’s armed forces, notably the Pakistan Air Force’s actions.
Murad Ali Shah mentioned that Pakistan launched Operation “Bunyan-un-Marsoos” in response to India’s “Operation Sindoor,” targeting military installations while avoiding civilian areas. He emphasized the performance of the Pakistan Air Force and advancements in defense capabilities. Despite the capacity for greater retaliation, he noted Pakistan’s preference for peace, acknowledging the nation’s unity as a pivotal factor in its resilience.
The Chief Minister called for sustained national unity, asserting the enduring strength of Pakistan when aligned with the principles of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Pakistan Peoples Party and the Sindh government to national defense and sovereignty.
