Shenzhen: In a significant development for academic collaboration between Pakistan and China, the Center for Pakistan Studies was officially inaugurated at Shenzhen University. The ceremony was attended by Ambassador Khalil Hashmi and Mr. Mao Junfa, President of Shenzhen University, alongside scholars and students.
The newly established center is set to enhance academic engagement, focusing on research, dialogue, and educational exchanges, particularly in new and emerging technologies. Ambassador Hashmi, in his address, expressed gratitude to the university leadership for supporting the initiative.
He highlighted the strengthening ties between Pakistan and China, especially in education and research sectors. Ambassador Hashmi noted Shenzhen’s reputation for innovation, making it an ideal location for this venture. He emphasized the importance of academic platforms in building lasting connections between the two nations.
Ambassador Hashmi also mentioned his previous visit to Shenzhen University and expressed satisfaction with the center’s inauguration as a result of that engagement. The center aims to serve as a hub for promoting studies related to Pakistan, encouraging collaborative research, and fostering business and student interactions.
Prior to the inauguration, discussions were held between Ambassador Hashmi and President Junfa on leveraging the center for mutual academic, research, and entrepreneurial benefits. The ambassador also toured the Shenzhen University History Museum.
