Karachi: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, underscored the importance of skilled training and institutional reforms during a meeting at the Pakistan Institute of Management (PIM).
Mr. Khan received a comprehensive briefing from PIM officials, highlighting the significance of management and marketing courses in enhancing professional institutions. Aligning with the Prime Minister’s vision, he emphasized the role skilled individuals play in the country’s development.
He stressed the necessity of having experienced professionals in training institutes to ensure the production of high-quality trainees. Mr. Khan also pointed out the importance of the younger generation acquiring skills in accounting, marketing, and finance to address modern challenges.
Expressing concern over the institute’s financial deficit due to high operational costs, Mr. Khan directed that immediate and effective steps be taken to resolve these issues. He also highlighted the indispensable role of training in the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and urged PIM to expand its outreach to increase awareness of its programs.
Currently, PIM offers public training programs, customized courses, and professional development training. Mr. Khan issued new directives to boost the institute’s efficiency and capacity, aiming to enhance its contribution to national development.
