Shabbir Shah Calls for Support to the Needy in Eid Message from Tihar Jail

Srinagar, From behind the bars of New Delhi’s Tihar Jail, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, the chairman of the Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), has delivered a poignant Eid ul Fitr message urging prosperity among well-off individuals to extend their help to the poor, needy, and orphans, advocating for austerity in the holiday’s observance.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Shah, in his communiqué, offered Eid greetings to Muslims around the globe, with a special focus on those in conflict-ridden regions like occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine. He invoked divine assistance to alleviate the suffering of these communities and to pave their path towards freedom and peace.

Amidst his reflections on global conflicts, Shah highlighted the relentless violence in Palestine and Kashmir, emphasizing the critical need for Muslim unity in the face of such adversities. He was optimistic about the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination, stressing that the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people would eventually bear fruit in their quest for autonomy.

Shah’s message not only underscored the enduring spirit and resilience of the Kashmiris but also paid homage to the martyrs and activists of the freedom movement, whose efforts continue to fuel the resistance against oppression.

In parallel, APHC leaders Syed Agha Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi and Farida Behanji, echoing Shah’s sentiments, extended Eid greetings to the Muslim Ummah and urged the community to spare a thought for the Kashmiri and Palestinian Muslims enduring the brunt of Indian and Israeli aggression. They drew parallels between the dire circumstances faced by people in these regions, underlining the existential threats to their identity and survival.
