Laie, Hawaii: Senator Khalil Tahir Sandhu emphasized Pakistan’s role in fostering regional peace and stability during his keynote address at the “Religion and Human Flourishing: Building Pathways to Peaceful Societies in South Asia” conference. The event took place from April 21-23, 2026, at Brigham Young University-Hawaii, USA, under the Religious Freedom and Human Dignity Initiative.
According to Senate of Pakistan, the conference gathered political leaders, scholars, faith leaders, and social activists worldwide to discuss strategies for cultivating peaceful and inclusive societies. Senator Sandhu, joined by Shahid Rehmat, Executive Director of the Youth Development Foundation, who also addressed the conference, underscored Pakistan’s commitment to regional cooperation.
In his speech, Senator Sandhu praised the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Asim Munir of the Pakistan Army, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. He detailed the Pakistani government’s initiatives aimed at improving conditions for religious minorities and promoting interfaith harmony, inclusion, and equal rights for all citizens.
