Islamabad: The Senate’s House Business Advisory Committee convened on Tuesday at the Parliament House, led by Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, to deliberate on the legislative agenda for the upcoming 348th session. The Committee outlined plans for the session, which is expected to last two weeks, and will include discussions on pressing national and international matters.

During the meeting, members paid tribute to the late Senators Taj Haider and Prof. Khursheed Ahmad, honoring their dedication and significant contributions to the nation. The Chairman and committee members expressed that the late senators’ services would be remembered long into the future.

The session also marked a moment of prestige for Pakistan’s parliamentary diplomacy, as members congratulated Chairman Gilani on his recent election as the founding Chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference. This achievement was hailed as a notable success for the country’s legislative body.

The meeting was attended by several key figures, including Deputy Chairman Syedaal Khan, Senators Syed Shibli Faraz, Saleem Mandviwalla, Sherry Rehman, Atta ur Rehman, and others, as well as the Minister for Law and Justice, Senator Azam Nazir Tarar. Secretary Senate Syed Hasnain Haider provided a briefing on the legislative business to be addressed during the session.
