Senate of Pakistan Hosts Pre-Budget Session on State of Economy

Islamabad, The Senate of Pakistan held a pre-budget session on the State of the Economy and the Annual Budget for 2024-25 at Parliament House, organized jointly by the Senate’s Parliamentary Development Unit, the Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Services, and Mustehkam Parlimaan. The session aimed to educate new and existing senators about the budget process and its significance in national governance.

According to Senate of Pakistan, the session featured an interactive discussion led by Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue. Participants included Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, the Federal Minister for Law and Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, who emphasized the need for a charter of economy to improve the country’s economic conditions. Various presentations were made, including an analysis of the budget publications and a detailed look at the state of Pakistan’s economy, highlighting the challenges and opportunities it faces.
