Kachhi: Security forces in Pakistan have successfully neutralized seventeen militants in a series of intelligence-led operations in the Balochistan province, according to a press release. The operations were conducted in the Kachhi and Kharan districts, targeting individuals identified as Indian-sponsored terrorists.
According to Radio Pakistan, the first operation took place in the Sanni area of Kachhi district, where security forces thwarted an attempt by militants to set up a roadblock. This engagement resulted in the deaths of ten militants and the recovery of weapons and ammunition. A second operation in Kharan district led to the discovery of a terrorist hideout. Following a fierce exchange of gunfire, seven militants were killed, and additional weapons and ammunition were seized.
During the Kharan operation, Sepoy Hikmat Ullah was killed in action. The security forces are continuing sanitization efforts to clear the area of any remaining threats. The operations are part of a broader counter-terrorism initiative under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” strategy, which aims to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism in Pakistan. The strategy has been endorsed by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan and involves sustained efforts by security forces and law enforcement agencies.
