Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: A joint intelligence operation by security forces and law enforcement agencies in Khyber District resulted in the deaths of 22 militants from the Indian-sponsored group Fitna-al-Khwarij, according to Inter Services Public Relations. The operation, conducted on April 21, 2026, targeted the reported presence of the group in the area.
According to Inter Services Public Relations, the operation involved an intense exchange of fire, during which the militants resorted to indiscriminate firing. This resulted in the tragic death of a ten-year-old child. The operation also led to the recovery of weapons and ammunition from the militants, who were actively involved in various terrorist activities in the region.
A sanitization operation is currently underway to eliminate any remaining militants in the area. This is part of a broader counter-terrorism campaign under the vision “Azm e Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan. The campaign aims to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from Pakistan, with security forces and law enforcement agencies committed to continuing their efforts at full pace. The sacrifice of innocent civilians is said to further strengthen the resolve of the forces involved.
