Islamabad, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with a delegation from the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) in Islamabad, led by the Fund’s Chief Executive Officer Sultan Bin Abdul Rehman Al Marshad. The meeting focused on the signing of financial agreements worth 107 million dollars aimed at constructing hydropower stations in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for the SFD’s investment, highlighting its potential to provide clean energy, combat deforestation, and create employment opportunities within the local communities.
Prime Minister Sharif underscored the importance of swiftly advancing new projects in green energy and infrastructure to facilitate the country’s economic recovery and meet community needs. CEO Sultan Bin Abdul Rehman Al Marshad updated the Prime Minister on the progress of ongoing initiatives, including the Mohmand Multi-purpose Hydropower Project, Golan Gol Hydropower Project, Malakand Regional Development Project, and other ventures supported by Saudi grants.
This collaboration signifies a substantial step towards sustainable development and energy self-sufficiency in Pakistan, aligning with broader environmental and economic goals.
