Saudi FM Forecasts Boost in Investment and Security Cooperation with Pakistan

Islamabad, In a recent address, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud articulated a strong commitment to deepening economic and security ties with Pakistan, emphasizing the vast potential for increased Saudi investments in the region.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a joint news conference with Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Prince Faisal described his visit as highly productive, setting the stage for substantial collaborations in the coming months. He highlighted the proactive discussions facilitated by Pakistan’s Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), which he noted had bolstered confidence in Pakistan’s economic prospects.

The Saudi Foreign Minister praised the new intergovernmental and business-oriented approach adopted during the talks, expressing optimism about future economic prosperity and regional security enhancements. He also acknowledged the significant contributions of Pakistani expatriates to the development of Saudi Arabia, underscoring the deep-rooted connections between the two nations.

On his part, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar welcomed the Saudi interest in expanding investments and detailed the efforts being made to streamline investment processes in Pakistan. He mentioned the SIFC’s role in providing a singular platform for swift decision-making and promoting foreign direct investment, aiming to transform Pakistan into a major hub for international capital, particularly from Saudi Arabia.

Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for Saudi investors, with the government actively working to enhance regulations and infrastructure to support economic growth. He stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the SIFC and other relevant ministries to expedite investment projects in a diligent and timely manner, reflecting a strategic push to convert bilateral relations into a robust economic partnership.

In response to questions about the current situation in Gaza, Prince Faisal called for an immediate ceasefire and emphasized the importance of unrestricted humanitarian aid, labeling the ongoing restrictions as unacceptable.
