New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid has sparked controversy with his recent statements suggesting that India could face a crisis similar to the recent turmoil in Bangladesh, drawing sharp criticism from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
According to Kashmir Media Service, Khurshid, speaking at a book launch event, warned that the conditions that led to widespread unrest in Bangladesh could also manifest in India despite its democratic framework. He referenced the Shaheen Bagh protests as an example of burgeoning discontent that could escalate if not adequately addressed.
Khurshid’s remarks have ignited a debate in Indian political circles, highlighting the growing concerns over internal stability and the responsiveness of the government to civil discontent.
