Romina Khurshid Highlights Art’s Role in Climate Awareness


Islamabad: Romina Khurshid Alam, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change, has highlighted the critical role of art in raising awareness about climate risks and the potential for disasters.



According to Press Information Department, speaking at the opening of OffGrid Studios’ art exhibition, Alam praised the creative community for their efforts to use art as a tool for social change, particularly in the context of environmental advocacy. She noted that art could make complex climate issues accessible and emotionally resonant, helping to unite people around sustainability efforts.



Alam also reflected on the use of art at international events such as COP28 to foster global cooperation on climate action. She underscored the ongoing challenges posed by climate change, including significant losses from events like the 2022 super floods in Pakistan, and called for swift, inclusive actions to mitigate these impacts.
