Report Highlights Routine Derogatory Remarks Against Prophet Muhammad in Modi’s India

Islamabad: A recent report from Kashmir Media Service has highlighted a troubling trend of derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by Hindutva followers, indicating a rise in Islamophobia under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration in India. These comments, often made by prominent Hindu priests and political leaders, have become increasingly normalized, reflecting a broader societal shift.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the latest inflammatory speech by Hindu priest Narasinghanand is part of a continuing pattern where figures revered by Muslims are openly insulted. Such incidents are reportedly supported and even promoted by leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), pointing to a deeper ideological endorsement.

The report criticizes the Modi government for fostering an environment where anti-Muslim sentiment is not only prevalent but also part of the official policy. It argues that actions and statements by BJP/RSS leaders contribute to transforming India into an undeclared ‘Hindu Rashtra’ (Hindu Nation), where Muslims face routine marginalization.

Furthermore, the report condemns the repeated acts of blasphemy by figures like Narasinghanand, suggesting that such behavior challenges India’s secular claims and exposes its religious biases. It insists that insults to Islamic figures are not just unacceptable but are indicative of a larger, systemic issue that must be addressed to protect religious harmony and minority rights in India.
