RCCI Delegation Highlights Successful U.S. Visit and Trade Opportunities


Islamabad: A delegation from the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) presented a comprehensive briefing to Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan regarding their recent visit to the United States, highlighting new opportunities for trade and investment between the two countries.



According to the Press Information Department, RCCI President Usman Shaukat and Senior Vice President Khalid Farooq Kazi informed the Minister about the outcomes of their interactions with U.S. lawmakers, business leaders, and economic institutions. The visit focused on expanding commercial ties between Pakistan and the U.S., with particular interest in sectors such as steel, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, minerals, mining, and technology.



The Commerce Minister praised the delegation’s efforts, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in enhancing Pakistan’s economic diplomacy. He noted the role of chambers in identifying business opportunities and supporting government efforts to boost exports and attract investment. The Minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to fostering structured, business-focused cooperation with the United States for sustainable trade growth and industrial development.



During discussions on Capitol Hill, the RCCI delegation reported positive interest from American stakeholders in strengthening bilateral trade relations and improving Pakistan’s investment outlook. The meetings stressed the need for policy consistency and investor facilitation to encourage deeper economic engagement.



In New York and New Jersey, the RCCI representatives received favorable responses about partnerships with Pakistan’s private sector. They highlighted the Pakistani diaspora’s role, especially in the technology sector, as a bridge for promoting business potential in the U.S.



The presentation noted the U.S. side’s openness toward state-level and sector-specific cooperation, which could lead to more practical and targeted economic partnerships. The RCCI delegation emphasized the importance of focusing on investment, joint ventures, and long-term industrial collaboration alongside exports.



The delegation committed to collaborating closely with the Ministry of Commerce to ensure effective follow-up and to translate the positive momentum from the U.S. visit into tangible economic outcomes for Pakistan.
