Islamabad: Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, marked the 30th anniversary of Tajikistan’s constitution by emphasizing the pivotal role of constitutions in ensuring justice and upholding the law at the International Parliamentary Conference.
According to Press Information Department, Rana Mashhood addressed the conference, stressing the significance of constitutions in democratic societies as protectors of individual rights, enforcers of equality, and facilitators of a clear legal structure. He elaborated on the responsibilities of parliamentarians to maintain constitutional integrity and advocate for oppressed communities globally, particularly highlighting the situations in Gaza and Indian-occupied Kashmir.
Rana Mashhood also expressed the importance of Pakistan and Tajikistan’s relationship, emphasizing their shared cultural, historical, and political ties and mutual commitments to strengthening bilateral relations across various sectors. He lauded the ongoing efforts to improve trade, security, and regional stability between the two nations.
In his speech, Rana Mashhood urged the international community to focus on human rights violations in conflict regions and called for actions to protect lives and restore peace. He also acknowledged the event’s role in promoting global dialogue on democratic governance, the rule of law, and human rights, expressing hope for continued international cooperation towards peace and justice.
