Rally in Muzaffarabad Emphasizes Right to Self-Determination for Kashmir

Muzaffarabad: A significant rally took place in Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, marking “Right to Self-Determination Day.” The event was organized by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, drawing participation from leaders across political lines, activists, and a diverse array of citizens.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the gathering included APHC-AJK Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi and other prominent leaders. Attendees carried banners with messages advocating for self-determination and condemning Indian policies in the region. Participants vocally opposed what they described as Indian occupation and called for the implementation of United Nations resolutions.

Ghulam Muhammad Safi and other speakers highlighted the ongoing struggle for freedom from Indian governance, emphasizing the sacrifices made by Kashmiris. They pointed to India’s reluctance to honor UN resolutions as a major impediment to resolving the dispute, asserting that international recognition of Kashmir as a disputed territory supports their stance.

The discourse at the rally underscored Pakistan’s support for the Kashmir cause, with speakers expressing gratitude for its backing. The rally featured several influential speakers, including Khawaja Farooq Ahmed and Chaudhry Lateef Akbar, who reiterated their commitment to achieving their goals despite challenges.
