Punjab Public Service Commission Sets Strict Guidelines for Upcoming Exams

Lahore: The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has announced detailed instructions for candidates scheduled to take various examinations on September 28 and 29, 2024. As part of its efforts to maintain the integrity and smooth conduct of the exams, PPSC has outlined a series of strict measures including the prohibition of electronic devices and the requirement of original identification documents.

According to Public Service Commission Punjab, candidates appearing for the tests must bring their admission letters which are essential for entry into the test centers. The admission letter, which may be longer than two pages, contains critical instructions that candidates are expected to read thoroughly. Additionally, only the original, valid CNIC or a valid passport will be accepted for identification purposes. Candidates with a lost or expired CNIC may use their passport, but no other forms of identification will be permitted.

Participants are required to arrive at their designated centers one hour prior to the start time of their exams. Late entry will be strictly prohibited, with no candidates allowed entry more than 20 minutes after the exam has commenced. In terms of personal items, the commission has banned all books, bags, and electronic gadgets such as cell phones and smart watches from the exam halls. Anyone found in possession of these prohibited items will be disqualified.

The duration of each test or examination is set at 90 minutes. Both the question paper and answer sheet must be returned to the PPSC staff immediately after this period. The use of a lead pencil on the OMR sheet for multiple-choice questions is forbidden; candidates must use a black or blue marker instead. Furthermore, candidates must ensure the paper code on their OMR sheet matches the one printed on their question paper.

The PPSC also warned that severe actions, including disqualification and potential legal consequences like filing an FIR, will be taken against any form of malpractice during the exams. This includes tampering with exam papers after the allotted time, consulting others, using unauthorized resources, copying, removing question papers or answer sheets from the exam center, impersonating, or threatening the exam staff.

Candidates are also reminded to verify they meet the eligibility criteria for their respective posts to avoid disqualification.
