FAISALABAD: In a tragic incident, Constable Abrar Hussain of the Punjab Police was killed during a police operation in Faisalabad. The officer was part of a raid aimed at capturing dangerous criminals wanted in an attempted murder case. During the operation, the suspects opened fire, critically injuring Hussain, who later succumbed to his injuries.

According to Punjab Police, the raid was carried out by the Faisalabad Police from Thikriwala Police Station in the 73-JB Jhappal area. Despite the attack, the police team managed to arrest the suspects—Bilal, Hanan, Hamad, and Zubair—along with their weapons. The funeral of the martyred officer was held at Police Lines Faisalabad, attended by senior police officers, family members, and representatives of civil society. A police contingent presented a guard of honor to Constable Hussain’s remains, which were then transported to his native village for burial.

Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem lauded Constable Hussain’s sacrifice, emphasizing that the officer gave his life for the safety of citizens. He assured that the family of the martyred officer would be fully supported and cared for, reflecting the department’s commitment to the families of those who have sacrificed in the line of duty.
