Rahim Yar Khan: In a targeted police operation in the Kacha area, Punjab Police successfully neutralized two notorious criminals, Sarmad Bhaiyo and Sajan Malookani, who were involved in multiple criminal activities including the killing of a police officer. The operation took place in the Sikandar Chachar region of Kacha Machka.
According to Punjab Police, the operation was intelligence-driven and ensued in a fierce exchange of gunfire when the criminals opened fire upon the police’s approach. Both Bhaiyo and Malookani, who had a history of attacks on police and were involved in terrorist activities, were killed during the confrontation. The police recovered two Kalashnikovs and several rounds of ammunition from the deceased.
DPO Rahim Yar Khan, Rizwan Umar Gondal, stated that the operation was initiated based on reliable intelligence about the dacoits’ whereabouts. Despite the success, some accomplices managed to escape into the surrounding sugarcane fields under the cover of darkness. A comprehensive search operation has been launched to capture the remaining fugitives.
The operation involved SHO Machka Jam Ijaz, SHO Bhong Naveed Wahla, CIA In-charge Saifullah Malhi, and a robust police force equipped with armored vehicles, modern weaponry, night-vision scopes, and elite commandos, underscoring the high stakes and preparedness for the mission.
IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, commended the Rahim Yar Khan Police team for their effective execution and underscored his commitment to eradicating criminal elements from the Kacha area, asserting that efforts will continue until the area is entirely free of crime.
