Lahore: Punjab Police Khidmat Marakaz, under the leadership of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, has successfully provided a range of digital services to millions of citizens across the province, facilitating a variety of essential policing services through its centers.
According to Punjab Police announcement issued on 24 September 2024, the Khidmat Marakaz has served over 1.846 million citizens this year alone. Detailed service statistics reveal that more than 518,000 citizens received character certificates, and over 835,000 underwent general police verification. Additionally, 4,184 individuals had police verifications conducted for private employment purposes, while more than 138,000 registrations were processed for tenancy agreements. The centers also managed over 19,000 vehicle verifications, issued more than 118,000 medico-legal certificates, and registered 58,000 cases of document loss. Furthermore, 4,211 crime reports were filed through the service centers.
The digital service initiative also addressed the needs of victims and vulnerable populations. More than 79,000 citizens obtained copies of FIRs, and 178 incidents of violence against women were formally reported. Legal and social protection support was provided to over 67,000 individuals. In efforts to enhance employment transparency, 1,273 citizens registered as employees under the Registration of Employees (ROPE) system.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized the effectiveness of the Khidmat Marakaz as a crucial project in service delivery, stating that the police will continue to improve the centers based on citizen feedback, aiming to further enhance accessibility and efficiency in public service delivery.
