Lahore: Punjab Police officers maintained a high alert status while performing security duties during Christian prayer services at churches throughout the province, including the city of Lahore.

According to Directorate General Public Relations – Govt of Punjab, Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem issued directives to Regional Police Officers (RPOs), District Police Officers (DPOs), and senior police officers to enhance security at churches. Kareem emphasized the importance of supervisory officers personally inspecting security arrangements at churches and other sensitive locations. He called for additional police personnel and snipers to be deployed at sensitive churches, while teams from the Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit (PRU), and Elite Force were tasked with ensuring effective patrolling around these areas.

The directives also included instructions for all deployed police officers and personnel to remain vigilant and maintain a close watch on potential threats. Search and sweep operations were ordered to continue around churches, Christian localities, and other sensitive areas. Furthermore, Abdul Kareem encouraged religious scholars, the Christian community, and members of Peace Committees to promote interfaith harmony.
