LAHORE: Punjab Police have carried out 9,784 intelligence-based and combing operations across the province, resulting in the detention of 2,171 suspected and criminal individuals over the past two weeks. This extensive effort is a response to the current situation on the western border.

According to Punjab Police, these operations included 650 intelligence-based activities during which 12,711 persons were questioned and 576 individuals were detained. Authorities recovered over 2.5 kilograms of explosive material, 12 detonators, 4 Kalashnikovs, and 37 feet of safety fuse wire from anti-state elements. Additionally, 9,134 combing operations were conducted, leading to the inspection of over 309,000 individuals and the arrest of 1,595 suspected criminals. In these operations, law enforcement seized 5 Kalashnikovs, 23 rifles, 187 pistols, 9 guns, and a significant amount of ammunition.

Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Kareem, emphasized that these operations will continue without interruption to hold anti-state and criminal elements accountable. He instructed that the process of door-knocking be intensified to counteract terrorist activities. The police chief reiterated that all available resources are being utilized to maintain law and order, with the protection of public life and property being the paramount concern of the Punjab Police.
