Punjab Police Allocates Over Rs. 87 Crore for Force and Family Welfare

Lahore: Punjab Police has announced significant progress in its ongoing initiatives aimed at supporting its personnel and their families. According to Punjab Police, more than Rs. 87 crore 42 lakh 26 thousand has been allocated this year for various welfare programs.

A spokesperson for Punjab Police detailed that over Rs. 26 crore 89 lakh were directed towards educational scholarships for the children of police personnel. Additionally, more than Rs. 24 crore were distributed as wedding gifts to the daughters of police employees. Medical treatment support for police personnel and their families received over Rs. 13 crore 49 lakh, while retirement grants amounted to more than Rs. 11 crore 29 lakh.

Further financial support included maintenance allowances exceeding Rs. 8 crore 88 lakh for families of police employees. Funeral expenses accounted for Rs. 2 crore 18 lakh 50 thousand, and immediate financial assistance for police personnel surpassed Rs. 59 lakh 63 thousand.

IG Punjab Abdul Kareem commented on the importance of these welfare measures, emphasizing that efforts to alleviate the challenges faced by police employees and their families would persist. The initiatives are part of a broader commitment to enhance welfare services through the Police Welfare Fund and other available resources.
