Lahore: The Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, is set to broaden the role of district administrations, aiming to convert districts into key centers of economic development and industrialization. A two-day workshop for Additional Deputy Commissioners (Headquarters) will begin on November 2 at the Punjab Civil Secretariat to craft a strategy for boosting local investment and facilitating business operations.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the workshop’s main goal is to invigorate local economies by reducing bureaucratic barriers, thereby streamlining business activities. The initiative seeks to foster a transparent and trust-based collaboration between district administrations and the private sector. Senior officials from federal and provincial bodies, including the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Board of Investment, and Punjab Small Industries Corporation, will address district officers on business opportunities and digital service integration. Special desks will be established to highlight traditional products and handicrafts from different districts.
