Lahore, In response to the ongoing kite flying incidents and a recent tragedy in Faisalabad, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has ordered the launch of a comprehensive campaign aimed at eradicating kite flying across the province. Despite existing prohibitions, the practice continues, leading to harmful consequences, including the death of a youth in Faisalabad. The Chief Minister has called for strict enforcement of the ban and immediate action against violators.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz has directed the Chief Secretary, district administrations, and police forces to ensure that her orders are implemented effectively. A notification has already been issued as part of the Chief Minister’s directive. Moreover, Maryam Nawaz has requested a detailed report from the IG Police on the Faisalabad incident within 48 hours, emphasizing the importance of identifying and taking action against those responsible for the youth’s death. The Chief Minister’s initiative underscores a significant effort to address public safety concerns related to kite flying, a popular but dangerous activity that has led to accidents and fatalities.
