Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has instructed members of the provincial assembly from Dera Ghazi Khan to supervise ongoing development projects within their constituencies. This directive was issued during a meeting with several lawmakers, including Ahmed Khan Leghari, Ali Ahmed Leghari, Osama Abdul Karim, Hanif Pitafi, Osama Leghari, and Salahuddin Khan, where discussions on the political climate, law and order, and public issues took center stage.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the assembly members extended their congratulations to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on her recent visit to China and commended her for the launch of the electric bus service in Dera Ghazi Khan. The legislators described the electric bus initiative as a “game changer” for the region, expressing gratitude on behalf of the local populace. They also noted a continuous decline in the crime rate in Dera Ghazi Khan, attributing this to the chief minister’s effective policies and highlighting improvements in law and order in the Katcha area as evidence of good governance in Punjab.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, addressing the meeting, emphasized that her visit to China aimed to establish Punjab as a hub for artificial intelligence. She announced plans to introduce advanced treatment and diagnostic methods for cancer and other diseases based on Chinese models. She also expressed satisfaction with the public’s use of electric buses in Dera Ghazi Khan and highlighted ongoing projects related to road infrastructure, drainage, water supply, and city beautification efforts in Dera Ghazi Khan and other parts of Punjab.
