Provincial Minister Details Steps to Improve Water Supply and Hygiene

Quetta: During a recent meeting in his office, Provincial Minister for Public Health Engineering (PHE) Sardar Abdul Rahman Khetran was briefed by Managing Director of Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) Hamid Latif Rana about the agency’s performance and initiatives taken to ensure the provision of clean water to Quetta’s citizens. The discussion highlighted ongoing efforts to improve water quality and infrastructure to prevent disease and enhance public health.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the briefing underscored the critical link between water supply and health, noting that the absence of clean water contributes to the spread of various diseases. Minister Khetran emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing WASA’s capabilities to manage water resources more effectively. He advocated for a coordinated approach to conserve water and minimize waste across different sectors.

The minister announced plans for upcoming meetings aimed at accelerating the completion of current WASA projects. He also mentioned improvements in the drainage systems of Quetta to enhance overall water management.
