Quetta: In an effort to enhance the healthcare system, Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar announced a comprehensive strategy to improve the condition of government hospitals across the province. The announcement was made during a meeting addressing healthcare facilities in the Sui and Awaran districts.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the strategy includes initiating an accountability process from the grassroots level, aiming to guarantee the availability of medical facilities and the presence of healthcare staff in the province’s remote areas. Minister Kakar highlighted the challenges in staffing at the modern facility in Awaran, emphasizing that providing doctors to this area is a top priority.
During the meeting, Member Provincial Assembly Khair Jan Baloch presented public complaints, prompting Minister Kakar to affirm that there will be no compromises in delivering top-notch medical services throughout the province. Discussions also covered the operational status of the government hospital in the Sui area of Dera Bugti, with plans to enhance coordination between the district administration and the health secretary to ensure proper staff deployment.
Furthermore, the meeting detailed the duties of the Medical Supply Department (MSD), which includes the supply, procurement, and delivery of medicines to provincial government hospitals. Minister Kakar urged for a transparent and digitized procurement process to maintain integrity and effectiveness.
Earlier discussions in the meeting touched on the ongoing health card program, described by Minister Kakar as a significant benefit for the province’s impoverished populations. The government aims to boost public trust in healthcare through such welfare initiatives and is exploring every option to advance the medical sector.
