Protests Ignite in Budgam Over Hezbollah Leader Hassan Nasrallah’s Death in Israeli Airstrikes

Srinagar: New demonstrations have unfolded in Budgam, a district in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, following the recent killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah by Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon. The unrest was particularly intense in the Magam market area and Budgam town, where businesses shuttered amidst the ongoing protests that erupted on Wednesday.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the community has been in a state of mourning since Nasrallah’s death this past Saturday, with his burial occurring the following day. The demonstrations began on the fourth day of mourning, reflecting deep-seated anger towards Nasrallah’s killing. The protestors, inclusive of men, women, and children, convened on major roads, waving black flags and vocally condemning the actions of Israel and the United States.

Chants against both nations filled the air as the crowds expressed their dismay and frustration over the airstrike that claimed Nasrallah’s life. The protests have brought to light significant geopolitical tensions and have underscored the local population’s solidarity with Nasrallah and his cause.
