Protest Movement Planned in AJK Against Indian Supreme Court’s Verdict on Kashmir’s Special Status

Karachi, In response to the Indian Supreme Court’s decision regarding the abrogation of the special status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a widespread protest movement is set to be launched across Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

According to Kashmir Media Service, Usman Ali Hashim, the senior vice-chairman of Pasban Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, announced in Muzaffarabad the plan for a series of protests. The movement aims to voice opposition against what is perceived as a biased decision by the Indian Supreme Court.

A major event, the Right to Self-Determination Rally, is scheduled to be held in Muzaffarabad, the capital of AJK, on January 5 next year. Hashim noted that a mass contact campaign is already underway across the Azad region to mobilize support for the cause.

Hashim emphasized that Kashmiris have consistently rejected India’s illegal occupation and remain committed to continuing their struggle for self-determination, honoring the sacrifices of the martyrs in their long-standing quest for freedom.

This planned protest movement represents a significant expression of solidarity and resistance among the Kashmiri population in AJK against the recent legal developments in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir.
